Though the Ramones 1976 debut was considered the first punk album, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols was definitely punk rock in all aspects. The band and their first album were probably the most radical in rock history. Most of the songs, though belted as obnoxious as possible by Johnny Rotten, are highly memorable and were solidly backed by Steve Jones' layered guitar and a tight rhythm section of bassist Glen Matlock and drummer Paul Cool. "Anarchy in the U.K." was ultimate rock and roll rebellion, with the "no future" yell embraced by the unemployed during the economic decline.
