Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - Orange (1994)

The band name sounds like a late 60s, early 70s blues rock powerhouse. But although the drum and guitar work on "Bellbuttoms" recalls Led Zeppelin's "Good Time Bad Time" and "Greyhound" recalls Jimi Hendrix's "Foxy Lady", the album is not standard blues rock. The band played their blues in a more chaotic, alternative-rock style and in some moments did sound innovative, but they need some good songs to go with it. "Brenda" is the only remarkable one. D
