The Boomtown Rats - The Boomtown Rats (1977)

As one of the first wave of UK punk bands, The Boomtown Rats belong to the can-play category. "Lookin' After No. 1" and "Mary of the 4th Form" are unquestionably punk rock, while "(She's Gonna) Do You In" and "Close as You'll Ever Be" sound more to 70s hard rock. One track showing singer Bob Geldof's writing skill and influence is "Joey's on the Street Again", a quite obvious Springsteen-inspired track. C
