Jethro Tull - This Was (1968)

Jethro Tull's debut is rather blues rock than progressive rock. "My Sunday Feeling" is a first-rate blues song. "Beggar's Farm" saw the progressive side of Tull incorporating the flute solo into their song. Jazzy "Serenade to a Cuckoo" features an interplay between Mick Abraham's guitar and Ian Anderson's flute. "Dharma for One" has an accelerated drum solo, and "Cat's Squirrel" was an instrumental track that showcases the guitar skill of Abraham, who would leave the band after this album. B
