It was the first Van Halen album with Sammy Hagar as vocalist. Eddie Van Halen stated that Hagar's vocal capability enabled him to write songs in a wider scope. Those high-note songs, backed by Eddie's new expertize on synthesizer, indeed mark a glazed difference from David Lee Roth's era. B
