The Rolling Stones - Exile on Main Street (1972)
If Bob Dylan and The Band's late-night jam in a pink house in Woodstock resulted in the creation of The Basement Tapes, then the Stones' late-night jam in Keith Richard's basement in southern France also resulted in another rock and roll masterpiece. The double album captured the drunken and reckless atmosphere in the basement, where the Stones and friends partied night after night. They carried on with the Sticky Fingers' decadent mood but got it done with a crude mix. The double album, full of inspiring tracks, always hailed as the best Stones album. B
