The Clash - Combat Rock (1982)
Though "Should I Stay or Should I Go" and "Rock the Casbah" were the hits, they are not the heart and soul of Combat Rock. On here, The Clash switched their theme to South East Asian politics. "Know Your Rights" is an agitating street anthem with some smartest phrases ever written. "Straight to Hell" displays Topper Headen's human-drum-machine capability that adorns Joe Strummer's numerous words on Indochina problems. On "Ghetto Defendant", they had Allen Ginsberg collaborating on a few lines. "Inoculated City" sighed on existing war. With all the charm, Combat Rock is definitely one of the best albums ever recorded. A
